3rd and 4th legs are almost identical to the FAT timing. I timed Boling's leg twice and I got him at sub-44 each time, but 43.8 is FAST. I might be timing Godwin and Boling from an incorrect line or something.

My guess was 44.9 for Godwin (to the 1 turn stagger) and 43.6 for Boling. But I might be off. I see Godwin (lead leg) at 43.8 at start/finish line) and Boling handing off there at 1:28.5.
Summer's comeback was epic. That kid gives me a big smile when gets the stick in hand.
Great tactical mindset (as expected from an 800 runner) and incredible patience. Impressive amount of confidence in his strength to wait until the last 150 or so.
Two points. Taking baton early is ok, it is getting late that might be a problem. Runner starts from beginning of zone, unlike in the 4x1 or 4x2. Two, Auto splits can't be given for first two runners due to fact that each zone is in different location, except for lane 1 where the middle of the zone is the finish line (no stagger). So timing Boling where he gets baton is not accurate. You must time him from the middle of his zone, which is beyond the finish line due to staggers for first runners in all lanes, but lane 1.

so could the 4x400 anchor take the baton more than 10 m before the finish line (if he wanted to for some reason)? Is that in the theoretical accelleration zone? My time estimate for Boling was based on from when the baton got to the 1 turn stagger until when Boling got it to the finish line.

No, all 4x400 runners have no acceleration zone, as you have in the 4x100m race. They have 10 meters to middle of zone and 10 meters on the other side. For the first leg, only lane one has the finish line as the middle of the zone, where one would time the incoming runner's split. The other lanes are staggered and their middle of the zone is beyond the finish line. I think it may be difficult to see that line (it is the start line for the 400m and 400m hurdles). You may see Boling is almost standing on the finish line as that is where his passing zone begins. You can get close to the middle of his zone by looking for the #3, which is just before the start of the 400m line.
I think this has got to be the best 4x4 in college history. There doesn't appear to have ever been a race with 3 teams under 3, AND Georgia is now #2 all-time. Georgia running 2:58 with an 800 runner, 100/200 runner and 400 hurdler is also pretty wild.

im not so sure sumner was being patient. i don't think he has the sprinting ability to go out with those guys the first 200-250. but then they died.

this is why the 4x4 is king in team track and field. that's the heart and soul of the team right there

Yes, As Lee Evans (Olympian Champ) used to say, the one who slows down the least wins the 400. There is no acceleration down the homestretch.
Love the 4x400. 800 guys, 400 guys, hurdlers, sprinters, etc. all coming together for each other. So much fun at every level. Even at JV high school dual meets, they get so pumped to get out there with each other.
