Typical neurotic, overthinking runner here -- I have a 10 miler coming up this weekend and can't decide on what shoes I want to wear, especially since this is an A-race for me. I have the following options in the mix: original Vaporfly Flyknit, Vaporfly Next% 2, and Alphafly.
I've done some long training runs in the Alpha, and they make my turnover and race paces feel effortless, but part of me feels like they're too heavy / unwieldy for a short distance like a 10-miler.
The Vaporfly FKs are from spring 2019 but only have 20ish miles on them; I've done a couple of short races in them, and they feel great at short distances, but I'm worried that they're too outdated.
Finally, the Next% 2s feel great on foot, but I've only run one 5K in them. Super shoe fans, help me out here!
