They appear to be back. Seven boys went sub-4:20 at the Arcadia Distance Challenge on Saturday:
Rodriguez (11) 4:14.31
Elkins (12) 4:15.42
Brown (10) 4:15.69
Keeney (11) 4:16.77
R Cortes (12) 4:17.36
M Cortes (12) 4:18.41
Myers (12) 4:18.84
3 non seniors under 4:17.
Don’t forget that Rodriguez also has a twin who was a few spots away from making the top 7 for xc last fall. He ran a 4:23. The twins finished close to each other in the 800 in a race
They will just need a 5th. But I’m sure that someone will step up. They have some sophs with good potential.
The coach must be doing a very good job actually. GO did a great job peaking at the right time last year
Wow! I wouldn’t be surprised if this year there’s a chance we see multiple GO boys at masters like they did almost 7 years ago during with the team that including Isaac Cortes and Spencer Dodds!
There is no hype train. You are simply hating. What other team do you see having SEVEN guys under 4:20? You don’t have to hop on the hype train if you don’t want to, but you can’t say this is just remarkable for a d3 team and not Great Oak
Great Oak regaining its former glory. NBP on the way down!
There are lots of CA teams outside of Great Oak that will be better than Newbury Park next year Ventura, Trabuco Hills, San Clemente, Dana Hills and Oakdale (if both Oliveiras are healthy and they find a better fifth man) to name a few
