I came across an interesting article on ESPN about Gwen Jorgensen's return to the triathlon. I didn't realize how great she was at tri. The article says she's the best triathlete in history in its title. Tri fans would you agree?
Anyway, in the article, she admits her stint as a running pro came up short of her lofty goals. "
"It's no secret that my running career was not what I wanted it to be," she said.
The article came out the week of her return to competition at the Oceania Triathlon Cup in New Zealand where she placed 3rd. Does anyone know how significant of a result this if for her? What does this say about her Paris 2024 chances?
I keep hearing how she just wants to make the relay. Tri fans, do you really believe that? I'd assume she'd want to go for individual gold but is just being smarter about publicly declaring expectations this time around.
