I was just on the European ahtletics website to see results for the 1500. In the 1500, I saw something I've never seen in a track and field result before. A yellow card was listed next to Luke McCann's name. What is that? Is track turning into soccer?

I think if you want to understand the rules of a track meet it's best to consult a professional journalist specializing in running events.
World Athletics - Competition Rules - Book C – C1.1 - Section 18.5 - Pages 13, 14
The applicable Referee shall have authority to warn or exclude from competition, any athlete or relay team guilty of acting in an unsporting or improper manner or under Rules 6, 16.5, 17.14, 17.15.4, 25.5, 25.19, 54.7.6, 54.10.8 or 55.8.8 of the Technical Rules. Warnings may be indicated to the athlete by showing a yellow card, exclusion by showing a red card. Warnings and exclusions shall be entered on the result card and communicated to the Competition Secretary and to the other Referees.
There then follows several paragraphs of notes and guidance.
I am doing my job. I saw the results right as I was headed out the door to pick up my son from school. Instead of rewinding the stream, figuring out what hapepned, I figured I'd post here and save time by getting a quick answer from someone who watched it live.
Plus if this messageboard isn't a lively and informative place for track and field fans, then the website doesn't exist. So I was creating a win-win-win
I was a) going to get the info I needed and b) helpd the messageboard and c) save time.
Many people don't think of it this way but I've always thought of one of key things we do at LetsRun.com is save people time. Yes, you could find all the articles we do but it takes hour a day to curate them etc. Yes I could go find the stream, rewind it (well I"m assuming that's possible) but that takes time. So in this case, you were going to save me time.
So how about, why don't you do your job and create from free UGC for me?

Ha, ha that hits deep. Maybe some unpaid intern has the answer.
Ok I went back and watched it. He totally just threw an elbow with about 40 meters to go. Now, the top 6 had gapped everyone and they all got in on time so they didn't DQ him as it had no impact on the top 6 but he got a little lucky. What he did was way worse to me than what Josh Thompson did at USAs.
Thanks to the guy on twitter who told me instead of telling me to do my job.
“Some Irish guy” is a hell of a way to describe an athlete good enough to represent his country at an international meet. You guys just can’t help yourselves with these pointless editorializations apparently. (The all-timer in this category being “baby nationals”).

And who would have cleaned rojo’s clock over any distance in his prime years.
Today’s lesson: better to post it to twitter than your own site. Elon’s policies ensure useful discourse over what’s implemented here. Helluva legacy.
While it is always humorous to watch Rojo's adventures, the idea that this website is a place to converse about track, and not always be the person bringing the facts, leaving others to bring them, is pretty reasonable.

You all have a lot of criticisms of a website that you’re lurking on 24/7. Make a better website if you’re so perfect. Tired of you weasels biting the hand that’s feeding you everything track
So, you are saying that Rojo is much smarter than you and far closer to getting his life together with excellent work life balance. He has got life figured out.
rojo i am 100% ok with you permanently banning the morons that criticize every single thing you do. nobody expects you to be perfect but these whiny brats are really annoying.
the fact that they could chose to read the post and ignore it and move on, but they chose to waste their own time just to insult you shows that they are sick and demented.
they want you to be on the job 24/7, while they don't even do their own job as they are posting on letsrun while they are at work.

Yeah that post that was deleted said "why don't you do your job and tell us Rojo?"
Such an insult, such a sick and demented post. How dare someone ask LRC to check running news, for which they have local contacts, investigative and fact checking resources, and post them on a website that aims to "cover running as a professional sport" ?
