She’s just a kind soul. She donates much of her time and a large amount of her finances to family, local education, and the overall betterment of her area that she grew up in as well as lives in. It’s very simple, really. She has shared her success as opposed to hoarding it. Be around her for 10 minutes, and you’ll see how warm and infectious her demeanor truly is. If you’ve anything bad to say about her, that’s a you problem, not an Edna problem.
Why does everyone make it a point to say how nice she is? Is she from the Teresa family?

I don't know her but I know she's taken in orphans of family friends and raised them as her own children.
I know she won the Boston Marathon recently at a pretty mature age but was robbed of the win by a doper. I know Kara and Des speak of her with a lot of respect and affection on their podcast. It's funny, Kara repeated something she had said about Edna on a broadcast but on the podcast it sounded so much more personal and genuine. Kind of makes you think people get tied up and shy when announcing on a pro job or they're constantly getting direction on how to speak to amp things up.
Helen Obiri has said she couldn't have moved from Kenya to Boulder to join OAC without Edna's encouragement and help.
Nike, on the other hand, doesn't seem loyal to anyone but Lance Armstrong, Salazar and Tiger Woods.

Another nice story about Edna. A few years back in the elite tent before a race, after warming up Edna was on the phone calling one of her children to wish her good luck on her school activity that day. Then reminded another child that she would be home that night.
I thought she might miss the start. She won the race.

This is HUGE! 43 years old and landing a NEW shoe contract?
Shoe companies don't see their investment in an athlete as a dollar to dollar investment. It's not- we pay you 50K a year and we have to get 51K+ back.
It's an overall advertising thing.
Sometimes I wonder if companies would be wise to throw some merchandise and maybe a little money(?) to local runners who might influence people just because they wear the product.
Not that I deserve anything but when I was coaching and running much faster than I am now people would often ask my advice on shoes/apparel, etc.
In my case I referred them to the local running specialty store.
But, maybe a company like Puma, ON, and some of the newer brands could make some inroads if they did this.

I 100% agree. Particularly nowadays with all the influence “people” have with the followers they have on social media, etc.
This is certainly HUGE for exposure for Masters Athletics.

This is a great thread. LRC is usually a cesspool of negativity but this thread brings light to the darkness.
