Seems odd, they aren’t opposed to wearing the spikes made by nike but when it comes to a singlet they cover up the swoosh?

It might have something to do with the logos being too big, this is a rule in HS and College, but I thought that only applied in HS or college races, because the singlets are likely World Athletics certified.
Same singlets were worn for World Mountain Running Champs and World U20 Outdoors and no college/hs athletes covered their swooshes with red tape.

At world athletics races there is often a gear check where you have to get everything checked for legal shoes/logo sizes stuff like that. That swoosh does look border line too big, the limit is pretty small, like 2 inches. It's possible that at the mountain championships no one was there to enforce the rules, but they enforced them at cross country championships. That wouldn't surprise me at all, things are run very inconsistent.
^^ The rule is 5cm, so ya less than 2 inches
True but these singlets were designed and approved for Tokyo. I would think they'd have made sure they were getting it right.
Still was worn at world outdoors.

I thought athletes are not allowed to
alter their uniforms/kits. Nike pays a lot to USATF and they want the logo shown. In the WC or Olympics, many are sponsored by other shoe brands, they don't cover up the Nike swoosh. Would be interested to know what was the real reason. I wonder if they were reprimanded.

The way they are partially covered makes it look like a size issue.
The smaller swoosh isn’t covered on the shorts.
Doesn't Nike just copy and paste these jersey styles for most every country they make uniforms for? Change the colors and that's about it?
In the background if the OP photo you can see the Nike logo on the GB jersey is not covered. I would guess that the logo on that jersey is the same size as the USA one, unless someone can offer evidence otherwise... I would like to know if this happened with other countries that have Nike jerseys.
Also, interestingly, the USA women did not cover the logo on their tops.
This is really weird...
Some of you obsess over the strangest things. Carry on I guess.
As a coach of several US teams, WA/IAAF has warned USATF several times about the size of the Nike logo on team uniforms. (In a picture from Bathurst it is the first thing I noticed) In the past USATF has chosen to ignore their warnings. If an U/20 team leader was warned this time and they chose to cover it up, why didn't the seniors follow suit?
It is not red tape, it is a sticker of the Chinese flag. Tic Tok paid extra to have it placed there.
Did other teams wear Nike singlets? Did they tape over the logo?
Nope, GB had the same singlet just a different colorway.
Same size? Including the tracksuit?
I ran in the pro field of s marathon major last year and I can say the people doing the gear check didn’t really know what they were doing. They constantly kept debating with one another if a logo was considered too big or too flashy. They were even questioning the adidas stripes on the adidas pro kits that are worn every year. I wouldn’t be surprised if the officials at world xc were just as incompetent. They probably decided to cover the nike logo to play it safe although that particular singlet has been cleared time and time again at the most recent Olympics and World Championships.
