I wonder who is coaching her? Will she train with Letsenet Gidey? Certainly she is a huge talent (incredible running family) though her partnership with Jama Aden raises a lot of red flags.
Superstars ⭐ getting ready for work 😍 World Champion @gotytom_geberselase_ and World Record Holder Genzebe Dibaba this morning in Akaki, near Addis-Ababa 🇪🇹
There was a third person besides Marc Scott and G. Dibaba to join the team.
Looking forward, the NN Running Team kickstarted 2023 by expanding the roster and adding three new athletes. First is British athlete , who has a successful track career with the Bowerman Track Club and is now looking to transition to the marathon distance.
The second edition is the 2022 European Championships Marathon silver medallist from Israel. Last but not least, former world 1500m champion and Olympic silver 1500m medallist has also joined the team.
So NN Running have had a vast number of people popped (from Eliud's training/pacing group) and now have signed Dibaba (Jama Aden association), Scott (burrito-gate association), and Salpeter (I have no proof of anything but have been saying for ages that if you look at her times on World Athletics, her progression is not normal)
I'm not calling people dopers but someone in the NN Running PR team could've been awake enough to at least space the Scott & Dibaba announcements out
What's next, are they going to sign Almaz Ayana? Oh wait.....
The Dibaba accusation is fine and well-deserved. Let's leave Marc Scott (he left Bowerman shortly after a single one of their athletes got popped -- I think Shelby is likely guilty but the substance is more in the Chris Froome category than Lance Armstrong) and Salpeter (who started her career extremely late, explaining rapid improvement) out of it, maybe?
I think once you associate with someone like Jama Aden, or your coach gets popped for legitimate doping (e.g. not Salazar putting testosterone cream on his kids, which is f'ed up but something other than EPO-esque drugs) you deserve the skepticism. For the good of enjoying the sport, can we leave the people that haven't had credible allegations made out of it?
Salpeter, ok, leave her out of it, she just has an unusual progression.
But Houlihan? Only "likely guilty"? She was popped for a freakin anabolic steroid (very "EPO-esque" if not worse!), and then banned for the full four years for intentional doping. Then her coach still wanted to coach her, and have her with the team as much as possible.
I thought it was 2 Eliud pacers but only one from the Kaptagat camp aka NN. Not exactly “vast.” Now, I agree signing Genzebe is a move I don’t get optically, as it’s hard to believe any Aden athlete didn’t dope. He’s definitely been proven to be a doping evangelist. I suppose they must think that Dibaba is off the sauce or at least isn’t with a flagrant doping team any more. She’s avoided getting caught. Her performances have pretty much come back to believable ever since the Aden bust.

For me the only thing that constitutes a "credible allegation" is a positive test.
