The BAA came out with the women's field for the 2023 Boston Marathon today. It's very good! Five women sub-2:18, nine sub-2:20, and 16 sub-2:21. Obviously super shoes mean everyone's PRs are a bit faster these days but this is certainly one of the stronger Boston fields in history. They've got the Valencia champ Amane Beriso (2:14:58 pb), the NYC champ Sharon Lokedi, former NYC/London champ Joyciline Jepkosgei, two medalists from Worlds last year in Gotytom Gebreslase and Lonah Salpeter, and 2x Boston champ Edna Kiplagat (who is now 43 years old).
US field is strong: Aliphine Tuliamuk, Sara Hall, Nell Rojas, Emma Bates. Should be a great race on April 17!
