Why does the west region for footlocker (champs) get ripped off by having NXN the same day as the regional, if i’m right all the other regions people can make both (Cole, Noah, Hunter ext) but people like Tyron Gorze, Aron Sahlman, the Young’s, and sSimmons ext arnt able to compete at champs because of this, if you ask me champs is missing out on a real national championship if you leave this region out. ( hats off to Sam Hanson of the west, he did not let the west side down)
This is on CA in my opinion; they are the outlier. Move the state meet up if you want athletes to compete in the bigger national meets. The rest of the nation can't wait around for an extra week or two. It's already a long season as it is. CA could even run their state meet after the national meets.
No-the Champs West regional is a week later, because the CA state meet is held the same day all the other Champs regions are held (Sat after Thanksgiving). CA has it's own region for Nike that is done through the CA State meet merge. That is why kids out west can do both NXN and Champs.
It's not NXNs job to make Footlocker (Champs) more appealing. At some point I see FL disappearing.

The main point of Footlocker / Champs is not running. It's about marketing the sponsor, which is now Champs.
As long as Champs (or whatever the sponsor name is in the future) feels that they are getting enough marketing exposure by holding the race, then they will continue to hold the race, regardless of what NXN is doing.

That's incorrect. NXN and the Champs West Regional is the same day, so kids in California can do either NXN or Champs but not both.
Easy solution: drop NXN or move it. There was never any problem until Nike decided to get in the game. San Diego nationals worked just fine for 30 plus years.

If any shoe company except Nike were sponsoring the BrooksXN, or Saucony XC etc, etc everyone would be calling that the true National Championship because it includes teams and individuals.
If one of the best runners is on a great team they're going to Nike. That means that any other race can't have all the top runners. A lot of great individuals choose Nike for that reason.
The others are nice opportunities for post season racing but they shouldn't call themselves Nationals.
It would be more beneficial to the running community as a whole if everyone would agree on one.
One has a legit qualifying procedure and pays for the athletes to be there. The truly best teams in the nation go to that one.
