Right sentiment, horrific example using Bekele.... 2:01:41????
40:18 - 41:11 in on:
You think 2:01 for a marathon is good?
Probably the worst take ever is that Brady is the GOAT.
Some guy said that beer and gambling at track meets would “revitalize the sport” has to be the worst sports-related thing I’ve heard.
“Americans aren’t more successful in the marathon because they train to run 5 flat miles instead of 3 flat kilometers.”

"Klay is washed."
"Athing Mu will go sub-4:20 at Millrose."
Have you ever been to letsrun? There's plenty of great running information there.
You claim this is a bad take, but we’ve never gotten an answer on it. Alternatively, we haven’t gotten an answer to why Nikki gets to huff in umbrage when called “she” in a woman’s race, if her eligibility for that race is based on something other than how she wakes up feeling that day. Everyone wants it both ways: she’s a “woman” (whatever that is) all the time for racing eligibility purposes but don’t you DARE use women’s pronouns for her or else you get the progressive offense treatment
Worst I heard was on tv when Jimmy the Greek was describing his opinion re genetics and the superiority of black athletes. I was thinking, "did he actually say that?" He was subsequently fired. It might be on You tube somewhere.

There are at least half a dozen contenders per day on this board.
that Zofia Dudek would have a better than Tuohy
I saw someone say that Daniel Komen could run 7:09 with super spikes, modern track and wavelight.
Why do all of these Tinman douchebags speak like 13-year-old Valley Girls?
"Like, totally, like, yeah, like..."
"Max Verstappen legitimately won the 2021 and 2022 world driver's championship, there was zero cost cap rule breaking or human error decisions involved in his wins"
As you said the point is right, but a bad example - so obviously not the worst take of all time (as many takes also mis the point too). But even then Bekele held the 10,000 record for 15 years at 26:17, so expectations are extremely high. Over his entire career he has had 2 great marathons. In the world marathon majors he has 2 wins and 6 finishes outside the top 2 (see marathon record below). So yes while he did eventually put it together for the 2:01:41, its not like hes consistently put it together at the level you'd expect given his 10k. Honestly, its a bad example because he entered the marathon quite late, so hasn't run it all that much, but still we could surely think of worse examples, e.g. if he said kipchoge or something.

Well we don’t know since it hasn’t been done yet.
Worst sports take ever? Probably whatever the last thing Stephen A Smith said.
