He's huge on British Letsrun though.
He’s gone to school in America. He should apply for citizenship since he’ll more than likely be spending most of his life in the U.S.A. now that the queen is dead and Britain’s empire is quickly fading.
If he's head and shoulders above the competition and had a chance at a medal on the world stage he'd get his attention (look at non-Americans like JI). But as is he isn't even a lock to make the GB team in the 5/10k
He is American. He competes for England.
I checked again. he is definitely British.
"I’ve been based in the USA for the past seven years. After being born in London, I lived with my family in Fulham for 12 years. Since it was the place I took my first steps and learned to compete, choosing to race for GB has always been a simple one for me."

I can see why much of the Empire was let go. Tell us the thought process when Queen of England let Hong Kong go. Hong Kong banking industry is and was a money laundering gold mine.
Charles MF Hicks. There, satisfied?
we let Hong Kong become independent because we are nice like that, we hold democratic values. we don't invade sovereign territories against their will anymore like other countries 😉. 'empires' are egotistical and part of a bygone era.
you sound like the sort of guy that would shoot your girlfriend before you let her walk out the door after she dumped you. a british person would wish her well and send her on her way with some tea and biscuits.
Charles is an American citizen with American heritage. His parents were in London because his father was operating a business there.
Charles' grandfather David Hicks Sr was a very influential Jacksonville businessman. David Sr was born in New Hampshire, followed a typical high class New England educational route (where he excelled in sports), and settled in Jacksonville because his wife was from there.
Charles' father, David Hicks Jr, went to business school at UNC and the family returned to Jacksonville after selling the business in England.
Charles' decision to compete for England is his to make.
Thanks for sharing. I didn’t know his background. Very interesting.
Yes, Charles gets to decide which country he represents but we all know the reason for his decision is the British 5K/10K teams are easier to make than the USA teams. Similar thinking Alexi Pappas had.
You left because your lease was up. And Hong Kong is not independent.
In a 2019 instagram post Charles referred to Great Britain as 'home'.
Of course I understand the americans on here that cannot get past their blind nationalism, but home is where the heart is.
No, he isn't getting any attention on here because the tuohy taliban is running riot over the site
