They should invite Jesuit New Orleans so they can show them what real competition looks like in Cross Country. None of this easy flat short course stuff.
Agree with these 2, especially Rocky Mountain I also think whoever gets 3rd in the merge in CIF on the boys side will get one too I would love to Jesuit LA invited, but unfortunately they can only allow teams that actually race at NXR and that get 3rd place there to go. Sometimes they allow 4th place teams to go if the region is that strong
They won the Nike Twilight at Lavern Gibson which is not a flat course. However they didn't dominate, only won by 9 over Carmel who didn't qualify at Regional which was held on the same course.
Hoping Downers Grove North, Illinois gets one. They have a nice, deep and consistent team that beat Hinsdale Central this year. Just a group of 9:35 guys who are always in the mix. They've also done well at Nationals getting 12th and 4th in 2016 and 2017.

Carmel was missing their regular #3 at NXR. That hurt them a lot
But they only had 2 seniors in the championship race so they will have a chance to qualify next year
No excuse, they wouldn't have made it anyhow even if he took 10th.

Possibly an at large, but the MW usually gets biased against it. Besides, Lavern is essentially a home course for Lemrac, I would've expected a better effort.
I wonder if Dowling Catholic will get one. Their 5th didn’t run the whole race with both shoes. Very tragic. They could have just autoqualified if he wore both shoes
They have a really solid #1 Jackson Heidesch. They have spent much time ranked in the top 15 or 17 in the nation
If Dowling makes it, it will allow the MN state champ Aidan Jones to go, because Heidesch won the Heartland race

At least they have 5 guys back from that championship race, so next year they will have another chance to autoqualify

It could look like 2017 next year where Downers Grove and Carmel autoqualify
i was actually very surprised that a team not FM or SLC got top two
Lovejoy was on the radar, but this really highlights them. They beat Southlake at Chile Pepper and arguably were better than Southlake and Flower Mound at State, but 5A on Saturday was much better conditions. Southlake beat Flower Mound at Woodbridge and only lost by 1 point at Regions. I think any one of those 3 schools could win on any given day.

What is up with all of the next year talk. The thread is about 2022.
Any thoughts on Minnetonka girls’ chances of getting an at-large?
New York’s FM and CNS girls aren’t racing NXR as a team so it will take away the chances of getting an at-large from that region, and give other regions more chances at an at-large bid
