Several thoughts about the film.
1) On deserves credit for releasing the film even though she bombed the race given the expectations.
2) Can someone tell me why in the hell she moved to the US to train for the marathon? A big part of the film was how she missed her kids in Kenya. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't a lot of Kenyans train for marathons in Kenya? It's not like she's had trouble in the past balancing training and being a mom while in Kenya.
What am I missing? It seems to me that only reason to come the US is that ON wanted to try to make Dathan Ritzenhein and the OAC famous and give credit for making her into marathoner. Like seriously, what was the rationale?
Women is basically first or second in the world in everything when she trains under Ricky Simms in Kenya. Instead, she moves to the US, trains under Ritz and finishes 6th.
Scratch that, I just googled and it says she wants to permanently move to the US but just couldn't pull off the Visa for the whole family.
3) I was stunned by how sloppy and ineffecient her form is. It does not surprise me the wheels fell of after 35k. Look at her form at the 1:52 mark in the film and then in the last 10 seconds. Her leg is splaying all over the place like Natalie Cook.
