Loll. Well he has the magic passport.
Wow that is surprising considering the success she has already had. Has Kersee coached an 800m runner before?
Wonder how much of her training will overlap with Sydney and whether they will both be running the 400m at World's next year in addition to their main event.
Brandon Miller joins her as well.
Great news for her 400m, but not sure if Bobby knows how to train someone for 3 rounds of the 800. She's so talented, it won't really matter anyways
This is a great question and does this mean one of them won't expand into the 400? I guess as long as neither has a big ego about it. But given the successes both have had, neither is running for second place, so in that sense, it would be strange for them to choose to train together and compete against each other at 400.

Not a good look for her, but I guess she is gonna take her shot at GOAT status.
She'll be fine, and I'm sure he will do some reading on the event. But there is a lot to gain by going through the process with other high level athletes prior. I can't believe this is the best decision for her. HOpefully Kersee is working with at least one person with deeper knowledge and experience with the event
Nobody is so talented that it doesn't matter. I can't think of a single elite 800m guy he has coached but I would be surprised if he did the 800m guys at some of those schools. And for a 400/800m person like Mu and miller we might be talking about pretty much the same type of programs...
J.J. Clark would make more sense.
Miller and Mu are dating so it makes sense.
This is very interesting news about two of my favorite athletes. I’m kind of glad this is happening because even though Athing won Worlds and Brandon at least made the US team, they both seemed to struggle last year. They need a change in coaching and a place to make a new start. Both have been super quiet on social media so I knew something was up. Thought they were heading to BTC or UAC (or a transfer to Oregon for Brandon if he did not go pro). Wishing all the best for this incredible “power couple”!!
She did have a slight off year. Though an off year where she ran the fastest time in the world and still won worlds her first year as a pro is nothing to scoff at.
Just an article verifying this.
Happy for all involved but I’m not a fan of any athletes, especially younger, more high profile athletes, working with someone that has a doping history like Kersee. Everyone in this sport should be working together to shun figures like that.
Here is her tweet that announced it.
Seems kind of weird. I know from watching his group for 4 years that they do heavy volume so maybe it'll be ok. They do fartlek type workouts on the track. How many 100/200 meter programs do fartleks? I would guess not many. Also, it's clear she is a 400/800 style runner so his training is more complementary than a distance coach/program with milers.
If people didn't think she was dirty in the past they will think it now. Shame now we will only see her race twice a year and never at a major invite like a DL again
He's been successful and so has Athing Mu. Should equal a new record coming her way. But now I'm curious who would win in a 400 M flat between Mu or Sydney. It's not a specialty for either athlete.
