She should not run with an injury, Hopefully she gets well and runs Dubai or Tokyo or London. I would like her to be fully healthy and try to get Sisson's 2:18.29 AR, Not sure if it is realistic, but it would be cool to see A Couple Both have The Fastest Time ever for American Men and Women at the Same Time. Beating 2:18.29 is asking a lot and the odds are against it, but it would be cool if it happened.
She is a chronic over racer which is the reason she has never made an Olympic team. She never goes 6 weeks without racing. If you don’t see her in any results for a 6 week period it is because she is hurt. I haven’t seen her name in results and know what that means.
Lots of top runners used to race every week or 2 Examples Bill Rodgers, Craig Virgin, Use some races as training and/or Tempo Run and then run for real for the Big Ones, Rodgers one Boston on a Monday and 5 days later got 3rd in The Highly Competitive Trevira Twosome 10 Mile

Virgin has said that he raced way too much. Apparently he felt that if he was getting paid to show up and race, and represent his brand, he was going to give it his best effort.
"Try not to get shot or mugged in NYC"--wow. Well, if you see that as a real problem you should *definitely* stay away from the state of Florida, which overall has a higher murder rate than NYC.

Good point. Actually,Bill was second at Trevira in ‘79.
Can someone copy/paste for those of us without Instagram? tia
So, I’ve still been dealing with this IT band. IT band syndrome is the worst— it can be so stubborn. In my case, I caught it early, never ran through it, MRI showed it was “mild”. I worked with the very best people to treat it and do rehab/strength work. But it kept dragging on. It’s not too surprising I ended up with something on my right side considering all year since my fall in February I’ve been dragging my left leg around. But the upside of this frustrating process is that the time spent fixing things and strengthening things has now made running feel the best it ever has. I truly believe that in every injury there’s an invitation. You can either just hit the couch or you can get proactive and say “what can I do right now?” I’ve always chosen the latter and all of my injuries have led to breakthroughs in my running. Hope that’s the case for you too 🙌🏽
I’m more of a fan of runners who race frequently like Sara Hall than of the runners who rarely race . I think the rarely racing trend is bad for the sport.

Tell that to Galen Rupp Lord Jesus! Talking about a professional sport 🙈🤣

You sort of sabotage your own argument here. Rodgers may have been entered in a race, but was not running at race effort. Hall races at a high level too frequently to ever get the most out of herself, but I suppose someone in that family has to pay the bills.

Not really a fair comparison given where Rupp is at in his career. Whether he admits it or not, injuries have been dictating his racing schedule the past several years. Look back at his track career: He had a full indoor and outdoor racing season back in the day.

There is simply no adults in the room when it comes to making decisions in her career.

Only way that happens is if she gets a 17mph tailwind like Ryan and runs the race of her life. “Fastest time ever” because Boston is NOT record eligible.
just filing a sensible post amongst a thread of the usual armchair expertise and couched sexism to say:
My fanship of running is not diminished if I limit myself to treating pro athletes as well as I treat, say, my fiancé.
Sara Hall is objectively a superhuman. She got to being a superhuman by being Sara Hall. I’m woefully under informed to know how to editorialize the architecture of her race seasons.
Really, another post about how Sara is destined to break the AR. References to Hall and Sisson without including Kiera , Molly and others is an oversight. Kiera ran 12 miles in NY last week while Sara was licking her wounds and wallowing in self pity. Time to hang it up.
Keira is really taking over Sara's role of running a bunch of marathons each year. Going to be 4 in 2022 with NYC, and all so far have been splendid results! Sara has shown how that strategy is risky, and how it is leading her to injuries, as she has run through too many pains and niggles. I hope Keira doesn't do this anymore, and stays serious and makes the Olympic Team. Same to Sara Hall!
