$26 per hr doesn’t sound bad. So they’re walking off the job at the Amazon warehouse in San Bernardino CA. We’re all dealing with inflation, so why does everyone feel entitled to a raise? I’m sure they get overtime, something hospital workers can’t even get these days with administrators cracking down on any OT.
because they're dumb and they think if they keep getting raises they'll be able to "afford" stuff again, not realizing like (how republicans have said all along) that raising minimum wage raises the cost of goods...
and the whole "replace everyone with robots" thing didn't work out. so here we are.
They want a bigger cut of the money they make the company. If 26$ is so great you should do it. You should pay rent in San Bernadino and do their job for their pay.

But profits cause inflation too. If Amazon pays less wage proportionally to it's revenue, it makes more profit and it's stockholders get a raise.
If stockholders get a raise, they increase the cost of goods for everyone.
If you're worried about rising prices - tax Amazon and increase the minimum wage to decrease their enormous profits and keep the inflation they're causing under control.
Republicans probably didn't mention that... they're more interested in pretending an above inflation pay rise doesn't help you, even though earning more money is the whole point of going to work.
Maybe you should ask for a pay cut and advise your colleagues to do the same to do your bit to reduce inflation 😉

profits don't cause inflation if they are a result of increased productivity
Wrong, profits are theft from the surplus value of the labor done by the workers. Amazon workers need to unionize and not give a inch to these bloated capitalist that are hurting America.

Try supporting a family on $26 per hour.
Wouldn't want to cut into Bezos's hundred of billions of $$ net worth by paying a living wage

Since these are the kind of jobs you do when you're young while you're getting the education to do your career I think this is great money. I was being paid $10 an hour for my throwaway job while I was in college.

Yes they do. In a country with enough land/food/water/gas to run itself at cost, with everyone taking home what they need, profits absolutely devalue money over time.
Economic is an unproven soft "science" routinely used to justify structures that already exist solely to benefit wealthy people. That's why it can't explain why increased productivity overall makes life less affordable and more financially precarious for most Americans.

^^ this was the point of my thread. It’s not a job where you go to college, go into debt, get a degree and plan on raising a family of four in CA. It’s a stepping stone job to get by. It’s not skilled at all. Like the cashiers complaining about raises out here at grocery stores. They know the rate when they interview. Every worker out here thinks they deserve $50 an hour without a degree of any kind, just because “ California has a housing crisis”.
People, in general, are paid what they are worth. Sometimes you have to fight a bit to get paid what you're worth, but generally the difference is not large. If Amazon workers really are terribly underpaid and deserve more, they should easily be able to find another job that pays them appropriately. If they can't, well, that indicates they don't actually deserve more for the skills and services they provide.
Isn't it amazing how offended some people get when they see others trying to improve their lot in life? The OP presumably detests elitist billionaires like Jeff Bezos and the liberal newspaper/enterprises he funds, yet he can't stand the idea of the people who work for him asking for better treatment and pay. Why? Jealousy? Reactionary opposition to unions that has been engrained by the corporate media? If you are a working class person, you should support other workers, not tear them down. A rising tide lifts all boats. Stop being an elitist bootlicker.
