After a broken foot erased his entire season, Williamson was lost, wondering if he’d ever play basketball again. But the Pelicans’ 22-year-old phenom is ready to show the world what he’s made of.
Eh, when you think about it, it's not unreasonable. 22-year-old, low body fat, having trained for awhile ... and I'm sure we're not talking 8 of them with 60 sec. rest. It was the finish to his workout. Still impressive.
In college we had a massive thrower, NFL lineman sized. Somewhere around 300lbs, definitely not all muscle but still a tremendously strong guy. He jumped in a 200 with the 800 guys for fun and kept up for a 29. Terrifying. Anyway, a leaner guy like this who actually runs for his sport could definitely do a sub 60.

It’s funny how the majority hobby jogger letsrun community finds it hard to believe that a tall athlete who played basketball all of their life can run a sub 60 second 400m.

Why were college 800 guys doing 29 s 200s?
Why not?
WE sometimes did 20 x 220 yds in 29-30 secs back in the day, with the rest being a slow 220 yds (maybe a minute or so).

This is the same crowd who thinks that anyone can run sub-15.

Not sure if you're aware, but you don't need to do everything at race pace to get fit.
