Always a fan. Watching his 10k meltdown a couple years ago was gut wrenching.
How did PT do in Chicago? Can’t seem to find results. I know there was talk of a fast time.

2:11, slowed down a bit over the last 10k

He's a massive unit, can't see him doing equivalent 5/10km times
2nd fastest debut by an Australian. 2:11. He's tall but I still think he can go a fair way under 2:10 eventually.

Thanks for the info. I’d say that’s a great start.

Google "chicago marathon results".
We saw him on the course, and from just before the half onwards he was running completely alone too
2:11:02.
Missed the fastest debut Aussie time by 2 seconds.
He's a big guy, but like Deek, he seems to be fairly efficient at marathon pace - which offsets the additional weight somewhat.
Ever think about going to the race website and clicking on 2022 Race Results, the first thing on the website.

And how does asking here rather than going to the race website hurt you? You could just ignore him.

Hey, I'm glad he started this thread. I wasn't aware Tiernan was running Chicago, and was interested to see how he did. I never would have known to look for his results. More important, why be a jerk?
Why be concerned about Tiernan’s time if you don’t follow the sport or him? He’s only been talking about making his marathon debut for about 5 months.
How did Frank Lara do at Chicago?
What about Connor Mantz? Wasn’t he talking about running his first marathon at Chicago? Are results on line anywhere???

Of the 5 minutes of footage shown during the actually running races one of them included Ruth passing frank Lara so... I don't think he exceeded or met his expectations that day

A new era though, no? Not to single out your post but it inspires the thought of how we really need a new list and this goes for all athletes across the distance events 5K and up.
But but I thought with bouncy shoes you're sure to go under 2:05 even for a big guy? I mean look at the dozens of east Africans that just went under 2 ...So easy with bouncy shoes
FWIW Pat said 2:11 would be a good day pre-race. Plenty of time for him to progress at the distance.

You’re solidly in the running to be the next resident fool of LetsRun, Bouncy shoes boy.

Almost the same height/weight as Deeks, but with considerably better track times. Deeks ran 2:14:44 in his debut, although he was only in his early twenties. Deeks then set the current national record at 7 years later
Tiernan's 28 years old and has a 60:55 half-marathon PB to his name. Surely that's worth a 2:08 later down the road. On another note, Tiernan's 2:11 comes 1 week after Brett Robinson ran 2:09:52 at London (#6 All-Time AUS). While they figure out who's best among the current crop, De Castella is still the GOAT of AUS marathoners. That 2:07:51 run at Boston is older than everyone trying to take it down.
