Gabbing just seen it this morning and only a photo, the upper looks weird. I didn’t see a price tag or any specs which makes me think it’ll be over 10oz and no better than any Brooks trainer
I'm excited for my buddy Matt Taylor who founded Tracksmith. From a business standpoint, I've always wondered how apparel companies that make great products make money as their stuff lasts a long time. How often would I need to replace my trackmsmith tights? Once a decade, maybe?
A shoe is something that constantly breaks down and has to be replaced. So it's a smart business move.
Note: The title of the thread was initially, "Are you excited about the Tracksmith Eliot Runner?" but I changed it to make it more descriptive and added in the link to the shoe in the first post as it only contained the picture.
I’m all for a company that stakes it’s reputation on high end quality getting into running shoes. If I’m ever somewhere to try them on, I’ll do it and see if they work for me.
I don't get which market it's aimed at. The pebax suggests a performance road shoe but without a plate it will be too compliant, lacking responsiveness. So is it a rival to the Invincible instead? Then the write up makes it sound like a trail show. I'm lost
Does anyone know if they are manufacturing these themselves or just slapping their name on them? When I first saw the announcement I found it hard to believe in apparel company their size would get into shoe manufacturing but maybe I'm wrong.

My Invinceble’s compressed-out unequally; one has more ‘slope’ now than the other. They were a letdown (my experience) based on price paid.

I bet rebranded, which is why they only show like two half photos of it. Maybe a slight tweaks at best.
Looks exactly like an athleisure shoe like Allbirds. They want these seen in offices, yoga studios, and bars, not at the track or on the trail. It'll probably be a $180-$250 shoe that has no carbon fiber plate or any other performance features. Atreyu will still be a more legit running shoe. Hell, they'd have been better off doing a collab with Atreyu.

It's got a pebax midsole, so legit enough in performance terms, and will retail at $200. Their loyalists will probably snap them up for the look/logo cred. I don't expect huge numbers will choose them over Pegasus Turbos or Rebel v3s for $70 more.

$200? No way. I like Tracksmith and have a lot of their clothing but their accessories are way to overpriced. Even their socks aren't worth it and that is coming from someone with probably $1,000 of their shirts, shorts, and pants
