Results were not very deep for the country (Poland), which organized the world half marathon championships a couple of years ago in Gdynia, where so many runners from all over the world came away with fantastic personal bests almost too good to believe.
I already understood that Poland was not a distance running country a couple of years ago when watching the world half marathon championships in Gdynia and looking at Polish passerby on the street who were totally disinterested in watching these world-class runners. You saw people coming back from the store with a bag in their hand and they weren't even giving a second glance to these world-class runners period - that was a shock to me.

I think polishers are in general sports interested, but mainly in events they do well. With no world class long distance runners right now, I'm not surprised that they don't care at all!
