It's no hotter than it was last month, what's their problem?
They're right next to a big ocean, most of them, just go jump in.
Its actually a lot hotter than last month - by a lot. unless you mean the last days of last month when the heatwave started The problems range from shut down of nuclear plants, wildfire potential (no rain/drought), excessive population, and for profit power companies.
Too many people to live in a desert and to expect critical resources (water, electricity) to last with the increasing population numbers. It's not sustainable.
I remember 110 degree days in 1959, what's the big deal?
There are now 25 million more people in CA
thats another funny thing about letist people. "water shortages because of climate change". in reality. more and more people rely on the same water supply and actually use up more water per person.
Texas grid has held up fine this summer...despite the massive influx of new residents fleeing California for our superior state. Keep hatin...everyone's moving to Texas.

Let me see. There's a drought in CO. There a drought in CA - our snow pack is way down. This is a simple measurable fact.
Sure, there's more people, and more farming and other water demands than 10 years ago. When you have a shortage both supply and demand factor is. We have more demand and less supply.
This is not a liberal vs conservative issue. It's simple math. Simple science. Even leaving Climate Change out of it. We are in a warning thread. Again, it's simple measurement and graphing trends over time. This has affected normal weather patterns. It has been a contributing factor to these droughts and the water supply shortage.
I'm not a leftist, but your assessment that's it's these silly leftist, and then you give us your silly assessment ...typical of the internet these days.

I live in LA. We are currently experiencing the worst drought conditions in 1200 years. This is the longest and hottest recorded September heatwave in history. I live near the water and my complex has no air conditioning. When it was built, no one imagined A/C would be needed. No one planned for these "once in a thousand year" events that are now coming every 10-20 years due to climate change. This is not just CA, but across the US (Kentucky floods, etc.) and across the world. Renewables now make up 1/3 of CA power, most of the rest is natural gas and nuclear. The Colorado River is drying up. Hydroelectric power (granted, only a few % but when the power needs are this high, it means a lot) is down due to the drought. Solar power is humming along - we got plenty of CA sunshine. On solar, of course, scientists and engineers are still trying to figure out how best to store - or distribute solar energy. With increased heat, floods, wildfires, AND increased population, we need to completely shift power technology and distribution away from fossil fuels and towards renewables if we don't want to burn out the planet.
