Seb Coe ran 46.87 in the open 4. With the 5sec rule of thumb, puts him at 51high. However, I believe if he’s in a race with McLaughlin, Seb ain’t losing.
This assumes Seb doesn’t have any real hurdling background
I’ve had a few teammates who could beat her in the 400IH.
800m ability aligns with 400 hurdle ability. To say one of the greatest 800m runners ever could beat the best woman 400 hurdler isn’t that much of a stretch.
It would take a lot of training. Wouldn’t happen in his first year. Might not happen at all. Not everyone who runs 46-high in the flat 4 can run 50-high in the hurdles.
Men can run women's hurdle height 2 seconds off their 400 without hurdling ability. He would run 49 with ease.
When S. Coe was in his twenties, he was 5'8 1/2" . He's shorter than Sydney McLauglin. S. Coe would not have been a great hurdler. Heck, if 22 years old S. Coe happened to be 22 years old in 1976, he would have raced 1500m for bronze. He has never kicked the way John Walker and Ivo van Damme kicked last 300m, 1976 men 1500m final.

50.68 would have qualified for Mens DIv 1 NCAA championships and you had a "few" teammates who could beat her? Man you must have gone to a hurdling powerhouse.

women’s and men’s hurdles aren’t the same height bruh

I think prime David Rudisha might beat Sydney McLaughlin in the 400mH. I think Warholm, Benjamin, and Dos Santos would likely beat McLaughlin's time if they got to jump over women's hurdles. Trevor Bassitt may need a year or two of training to prepare for the women's 400mH, but I think he could probably do it too.
In the cycling world, the very best women look spectacular when racing one-another.
Put them in a field of Category 3 men, which is a class of competitors one step removed from pizza and beer on the couch (or say 48 minute 10K fitness), and the men walk all over them.
Who are the knuckle-draggers upvoting this trash thread?
Evidently not me.
P.S. I just down voted my own post so as not to make you feel so bad. I like the expression, "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes." I love LR.com. You can post anything you want and the worst thing that can happen is a down vote or mod's delete your post. Holy Cow! I'll cry for a week if I get a down vote or post deleted.
P.P.S. This post is sooo full of sarcasm, if were made of honey, anyone reading it would drop dead from diabetes.
