Anyone have any idea how much Keeley and Mu are making? Sorry if this has been discussed before. If SM is making 7 figures, both Keeley and Mu should be making a pretty penny considering they actually race real races

"SM" obviously stands for my neighbor, Scott Miller. Yes, he is a 40:xx guy for 5K. If you insist that he is making 7 figures, then, yeah, Keely (note proper spelling) Hodgkinson and Athing Mu "should be making a pretty penny."
But your take is tendentious, even obnoxious, as 5K is a real distance and Scott Miller tries his hardest.
Actually, it's noticeable that Keely hasn't yet appeared in any advertising campaigns in the UK. A pretty girl with an individual global medal usually ends up with a bottle of shampoo in one hand and a yoghurt pot in the other within weeks.

I barely know who these broads are and I actually follow the sport. The general public has NO IDEA who they are. No honey, no money.
Honestly this is true. I can't name any male 800m runners now. I only know Athing cause she was on the 4x4 then I watched the 800m cause of the controversy where she squeezed Keely. Never heard of Keely before that either.

Thing is, we have quite a lot of olympic gold medallists in the country these days and, so far, she hasn't won on the world stage. Rather than necessarily winning there also needs to be an interesting and different story attached and, at the moment, the story is that she's basically really really really good. In a competitive commercial field that doesn't quite hit the spot as yet!
I do think Mu would make more money by switching to the 400. The 800 is an event for track aficionados. It's not quite a sprint, not quite a distance event. We all like it because of the chaos and pain involved but it's a bit of an orphaned event. The 400 is pretty iconic - how fast can you run one lap of a track? How many global 800 stars have there ever been? I struggle to name one. You could argue Coe, but he became better known for the 1500. Semenya, but only for controversial reasons. The 400 has had some icons like Felix and Johnson. If Mu could take down that doped record, she'd be a total star.

Going to guess her lack of commercial exposure is personal choice.
No way sponsors are not queueing up. Maybe not at Raducanu levels, but she's pretty, blonde and well spoken. She'll be doing well, even if we don't really know about it.
Athing signed with Nike before her Gold but after her collegiate record. If I had to guess, $140k/yr. and she makes beyond double that per year with performance incentives, not to mention she probably gets $5,000 just to show up to meets now. Overall, during championship years, $250k.
For Keely, I'm not so sure. Of course, it depends on when her contract renewed compared to when she won her medals, also I have no clue what Omega pays their athletes. $90k from nike, performance incentives, and another $25k from Omega(?). I think $185k is fair.
Waiting for rojo to plug the "HoW mUcH dO pRo'S mAkE" article.

whoops, I meant $300k for Mu during successful championship years.
