Even the blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time. He broke open against third team coverage and made a nice catch but he's been Mr. Stone Hands this entire preseason. The Browns also have a former track guy (Shwartz) who has yet to learn to run crisp routes or catch the ball reliably in year two.
Track guys almost never make it on the field. Allen looks better than Schwartz but that's not saying much.

Track guys who made it with the Browns...
Eric Metcalf, Bobby Mitchell, Fair Hooker, Nick Chubb, so...???

well...neary all football players are "track guys" by that definition, i think folks are talking about olympians turned NFLers.
These preseason games don't mean a lot in terms of the regular season. They're generally used to evaluate talent and give an idea of who does and doesn't end up on the 53 man roster. Allen looked good but I'm not sure that the guys he torched were newbies being evaluated or if they were regulars. If they were regulars, that is really good for Allen.
Hopefully Allen makes the final roster but the odds are not in his favor, unfortunately.
Most or all NFL WRs and DBs ran track in in HS.,lots in college too. Bob Hayes and Cliff Branch were a few of the standouts in both. Give the guy some credit for trying out.
J. Gault - during a live show right before Worlds, I asked the question "What is more likely, will Devon Allen score a touchdown for the Eagles win a world medal on the track?" I commented with touchdown and you laughed at me saying there is NO WAY Devon scores a touchdown this season because he probably won't make the team.

If the depth chart i found is correct it looks like its Lavert Hill and Herb Miller who are listed as third string right cornerbacks.
