Well he is right that ultras on vegan is stupid as he'll as far as health is concerned. Better off sprintng on carnivore plus fruit like he is eating now.
Dr. Saladino does everything comically extreme.
"I ate nothing but spinach smoothies and ran 200 miles per week until I pissed blood" therefore distance running is dangerous.
I could only watch about 30 seconds of these two mental giants before I had a cardiac event preventing me from watching anymore. It is much more dangerous to one’s health to be driving with Danica as your driver or with this fellow as your personal doctor than it is to be a distance runner. I will run a few more miles longer this weekend because of these two.
I wouldn’t even risk walking, personally. There’s nothing more unnatural and damaging than perambulating about the place, except for maybe food that grows in the ground. That’s why I get all my raw chicken breasts and sticks of butter delivered to me in pre-portioned little plastic packs from a vastly overpriced company on the internet.
Danica is as brilliant as the last study she’s read.
I wish I saw that 30 + years ago.
I've been telling the youths for years to pursue auto racing instead of distance running. It's inherently less dangerous. You have to think about your health.
No one ever got an overuse injury from car racing.
Extreme anything is not good for your body. You don't get blood in your urine from moderately working out. Training hard running 100+ mile weeks is a way develop health issues.
When I peed red I figured I was finally training hard enough! Lol. That happened one time. I had just finished a chilly hilly 24mi run which included 4 x 3 miles at MP pace. Glorious run. Got home, took my usual post run cold ice bath. Peed red.

Racing cars at 200 mph is not dangerous.
I'm sure you can get overuse injuries from car racing. They are just stupid ones like you get from sitting at a computer all day, etc.
I'm not even going to watch the video. I don't feel a retired pro Nascar racer should cast shade on the dangers of another sport. Stay in your lane and discuss the dangers of vehicle racing.
Damn Danica is fine
my eyes occasionaly fell on the bottom part of the screen many times
An absolute clown fest. You couldn't make it more absurd if you tried. It's like a parody, but those goofballs are dead serious.
Dr. Paul Saladino overtrains and has trouble managing his cortisol and so he questions if running is too stressful? That's incredibly arrogant and doesn't strike me as very intelligent.
Of course, anything done to extreme is unhealthy. I'm sure the high majority of runners on this board who put in high mileage and hard workouts have, as a result, low cortisol levels and very healthy hearts.
I’ve never understood why non-runners feel the need to criticize or make jokes about runners. Why can’t they just live and let live? The one that agitates me the most is that stupid meme, “I don’t run, so if you see me running call the police!” Ha ha ha. Like we can’t already tell you don’t run. We don’t need you to tell us.
Lets just remember who he is. He has an MD in psychiatry! Not cardiology or GI. Sorry, but I disagree with the majority of what he says. And yes, if you do things physically extreme like years of ultras it may be detrimental to some people's health. Peeing blood after a marathon or ultra would be considered normal and its called "march hemoglobinuria" a very temporary situation. And the fact that he considers himself the LEADING authority on carnivore diet is hilarious, just marketing himself to make money
How do you know someone is a vegan?
Don't worry, they'll tell you!
You are the perfect example of how meat eaters need to constantly justify their food choices. None of the vegans I know say anything unless asked.
