Is there an official world record for 3 miles? I can't find it anywhere.
Not sure about the 5k mate but I heard Brett Robinson is going to have a crack in the 1 hour race!

Probably Jakob, but i doubt it
Do we know if this is for men or women? Women's WR is more likely to be under threat imo

Also that article is from May 4th, how could they know someone would be in shape to take the 5,000 record 5 months ahead of time. Updated article shows Women's 3,000 steeple WR attempt by Werkusha Getachew. Kibiwott Kandie and Sabastian Sawe going after the 20K world best. No mention of the 5,000.
!Galen Rupp has secretly abandoned the pointless slog of 26 miles and will return to glory taking the 5k in the first sub 12 time ever. Jakob will pace him for 3k and then step off, ok, face plant. Then Alan W, who will have been lapped several times will turn on the jets and guide Galen to 4.2K at which point Donavan Brazier, Ksrsten Warhome, Liles, and Shacarri (all who just done some drills for a few laps) will guide Rupp to the line in 11:59!

If it’s for the mens race, my money is on the pacing lights for the win.
Some East African nobody has ever heard of will set some sort of hour or 20K record, it will get some attention on this board, then everyone will return to ripping on Seth James Demoor and it will appear as though an assault on a soft WR never happened.

I've never clicked 'Report Post' on anyone or blocked any other commenter. But if there is a way to word-block 'Demoor" I would do it in a second.

Kibiwott Kandie is not a nobody. And since the hour record was set by a past-his-prime Mo Farah, it is a soft record.
it was supposed to be cheptegei.
i hope he recovers well for next season, would love to see either him or jakob complete the double. and i think he still has another couple seconds in him
