Considering he has probably the most technical event down, completing one wouldn’t be in question. He’d probably be weak at the throws but we know he can run at least 10.5-10.6 so I’d imagine he’d handle the sprints and hurdles well
He might no height in the high jump, 6 foot might be out of reach for him. He'd also have to learn the discus/jav. They are both technical as well. And maybe he's a terrible hurdler. Just because he's good at pole vault and the 100 flat doesn't mean he'd be a good decathlete.
I know that he plays golf and has hit the ball out of the park at Alex Box stadium (LSU). Sure would like to see him in the celebrity tournament one day.

If he did a decathlon today? Probably 7600 to 7800.
If he trained for a year without changing his physique at all? Probably 8100 to 8300.
He would have to increase his weight and his strength a lot in order to get up to around 8700 or 8800 in order to win a medal.
I'm far from a decathlon expert but I'll make a guess for fun. I think he could get close to 8500 points and be in the running to win the NCAA decathlon. He has run the hundred and long jumped before, so we have marks for those. I'm assuming a 49 400 and a 4:15 1500, and a decent high jump of at least 6'2. Wouldn't be surprised if he could go higher right now without even training for it. The hurdles he could probably do well with training as he has the speed and agility already. I have no idea how far he could throw, but assuming he's close to all state high school scoring levels (maybe even that is unrealistic) then that gives him about 8500 points.
It's been done before, kind of. Tommy Skipper competed briefly without training, scoring 7,589 with a PV 2' below his PR.
The title of Pacific-10 Conference decathlon champion can now be added to Tommy Skipper’s already impressive athletic résumé. The freshman from Sandy, who was a last-minute wild card addition to the field in Tucson, Ariz., won the decathlon with an automatic NCAA qualifying total of 7,589 points. Despite a lack of training in many of the 10 events, Skipper used two second-day event wins to move up from fourth place and defeat Arizona State’s Joshua Kinnaman by 105 points (second, 7,484). Skipper’s second-day wins came in the pole vault and javelin — the two events with which he is most familiar. His pole vault clearance of 17 feet 4 1/2 inches was nearly a foot better than the rest of the field, while his top javelin mark (203-10) was his collegiate best and 18 feet better than the rest of the field. More impressive, however, was Skipper’s ability to succeed in the rest of the events, many of which marked his collegiate debut. He finished first in the 100-meter dash (10.69 seconds) and the shot put (44-6 3/4), second in the high jump (6-5 1/2) and discus (143-4), third in the 400 (50.26) and ninth in the long jump (20-6.5) and 1,500 (5:21.46). “I was doing some great jumping, with the help of our trainers (who got) the whole team ready by giving massage workouts,” Skipper said. “Coach (Bill) Lawson is the man. He really gets the team fired up to compete.”

Louisiana's Mondo Duplantis, competing for Sweden, won gold, then set a championship record, then broke his own world record in the final event of 2022 World...

You must not have seen his casual front flip after his world record this weekend. He's got serious bounce. You also overestimate how hard 6 feet is.

Did you see his front flip after 6.21m? He can high jump 6 ft without problems.
You’re very biased as a distance runner. A 4:15 1500 is much more difficult than you think
You've biased as a distance runner thinking the 1500 is even that important. He can run a 4:30 most likely with some training. Only the top tier guys break 4:15. The difference between 4:30 and 4:15 is probably like 90 points.
This year's bronze medalist:
100m 10.57(959)
LJ 7.70(985)
SP 15.37(812)
HJ 2.08(878)
400m 49.56(835)
110h 14.47(915)
DT 48.40(837)
PV 5.40(1035)
JV 62.18(771)
1500m 4:44.97(649)
8676 points total.
I think Mondo could go (based on PRs and guessing also):
100m 10.57 (959)
LJ 7.15 (850)
SP 12..87 (the worst in the WC field)(659)
HJ 2.00 (about 6ft 5?)
400 49.5 (feels like with 10.57 speed he could probably go sub 50)(838)
110h 15.00 (high schoolers can do this without 10.5 speed) (850)
DT 30.49 (took the worst mark in the field that didn't seem like a foul)(474)
PV 6.20 (let's say he's a bit tired) (1298)
JV 52.80m (took worst mark in the field) (645)
1500m 4:30 (basically a sub 5 equivalent and about mid pack in the field)(745)
You'll never know. Ditto McLaughlin (can't think of another male athlete). Think Dafne Schippers - once she discovered world class speed, heptathlon went bye bye. Jackie Joyner did it, but that was then and decathlon is a more grueling event than heptathlon.
He would be a respectable decathlete. Probably not elite world class but I would not rule it out totally based on known performances. Shot and 1500 would be the unknowns.
