Horrible performance by all the Americans. Cranny wasn’t going to get a medal spot, Karisa couldn’t even finish this slowish paced race and Emily, just happy to be revenant was a dead finish last
Go away, you know zilch about running. How ignorant are you or do you just get off getting responses to your moronic threads?
I know more than you do that's for sure.
Did you just watch the same race I did? They ran a 2:40 opening 800m. And the Americans were at the back. WHY??????
And then when the pace dropped to 70/lap they didn't answer that either.
Why be in 10th when you can be in 4th going the same pace.
Africans run a 60 second last lap. Cranny ran like a 75.
Garbage race.
Its because the US women are simply outclassed by a large margin in the 5k and 10k. They are never in contention. I don't think it matters where the run because they are never close to the podium. This is why it's an absolute joke on LR when people get a MF title for doing something in the US trials.
If you're going to barely race in the spring or do indoors because you're "focused on world's", you better be in medal contention when you get to worlds. Obviously not the case here. As a fan, I'd much rather see Cranny, Schweitzer, etc. race in more meets if it means getting like 11th place instead of like 9th place.
Galen Rupp is the only distance runner that stuck his nose in it and won a medal. Grant has a chance and obvi Infield stole a medal from Molly Huddle. Bowerman is suppose to be the top of the US but they never challenge the East Africans, except for Grant.
Would you rather see the Americans lead at the beginning (like the japanese girl do it in every race), and fade away to the back later ?
Sometimes you have to accept the reality, that the Americans are not in the same class with the Africans. So I don’t care what kind of race they ran, b/c I already knew the fact that they won’t contend for a medal no matter what.
Another poster who thinks you can magically will yourself to victory by just trying harder.
I didn't say any of them should have won a medal.
But I think if you have USA across your chest you better go down with a fight.
So tell me which one had anything left in the tank at the end, Cranny or Schweizer? It sure as he'll didn't look like either of them had anything left to me.
Jerry cooked Cranny into RED-S/iron deficiency, and Karissa on the brink of injury this season.
He also knows nothing about racing tactics as this is what his athletes talk about in their post-race interviews that they wished they could have done better.

Don't give them a free pass. Push the pace a little bit. Maybe some of the Africans will have a bad day. Stop assuming that just because they're from Africa that they are unbeatable.
Didn't we just witness a men's 1500m a couple days ago? The Africans were handled and then there was a surprise winner because the guy didn't pack it in. Wightman got himself in great position and took advantage of his opportunity.
You have to run your own race. The opportunity will be there if you're prepared for it.
Stole? Everything else you typed may or may not be right, but she hardly stole anything from Huddle. She finished the race and won bronze. no burglary took place.
