Felt bad for her, she looked nervous before the race and had the worst lane. She's run under 22 all year.

Too long of an indoor/outdoor season. I doubt any of the pros ran over 20 races much less 50+.
Favour Ofili was off too.

Technically, she was 4th behind the fastest 200 in decades, the Queen of Track and the defending champion which is great for a college athlete.
I hope they give Abby a chance to run the relays so she can get another shot at a medal.
Respect for Abby for not making excuses and being super positive.

Hopefully her and Gabby Thomas bounce back next year.

I don't think Abby needs to bounce back. She did just fine.
Transcribed interview:
Q: How do you feel about your performance overall first world final?
“Yeah um you know coming I was in lane eight so I just wanted to get out as hard as I possibly could and kind of hold on to anything I had left, so um, those are just such a great learning experience. I got to compete against some of the people that I've looked up to for so long in this sport. I got to — you know — get used to a World Championship atmosphere, um and after a really long season I'm already looking forward to next year.”
Q: The outside lane how much did it impact you you have so much you have so much speed behind you?
“Yeah, um, it was really just kind of get out and, uh, you know, don't tense up if you see them coming. But, I got out hard and I kind of lost it at the end, but you know I wanted to give it all I had in lane eight and uh hold on for dear life pretty much.”
Q: Have you ever run in lane eight?
“I don't know if i've ever ran in lane eight, so yeah it was a good good learning experience. Um I knew that I was, you know, trying to run away from really fast people behind me, so I was just doing the best I could.”
Q: Your first real opportunity to experience the Jamaica-Usa thing on a global stage. Yeah what was that like to be part of these last few days?
“My gosh it was so fun, um just kind of seeing where I stacked up and also just kind of getting to talk to them and you know seeing what they do. And, they're all such sweethearts and so easy to root for, um, so I'm really happy for their success, and uh you know just gonna definitely keep that in the back of my head as I take this time off and then get ready for fall training. I'm excited to get ready for next year as a pro and be at this meet as a pro without the collegiate season on my legs.”
Q: How much did that impact you?
“You, um, you know I wasn't trying to think about it, but that was my 55th race so I think that I, you know, my legs kind of felt out a little bit, um but again, that wasn't really in my head I was just trying to go out there and perform to the best of my ability. So yeah.”
Q: Are you gonna race it anymore this year or is this it?
“As I said, um, I am not sure what the relay stuff is going to be like at this meet, but I believe after this meet we're gonna be done and take a break.”
Q: “Would you want to run the relay?
“Oh yeah, I'd love to run the relay yeah i would love to be put on and i'm going to give everything to this meet, wherever they need me.”
Q: Do you have a preference four by one or four by four?
“Whichever — both, whatever — wherever they need me yeah exactly yeah so wherever they need me.”
She said "if I've ever ran in lane eight?" I just lost some respect for her. Why is it so hard for runners to use the word "run" correctly?
Abby ran three...THREE...yes, THREEEEEE races all year under 22 seconds, not "all year". Noob fits you well.
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
