If he could be out for blood, he would have thrown the hammer down and won that 1500. He hasn't go it.
He'll kick himself, tell himself he's motivated, purify his hate, but then the same thing will happen, someone will challenge him and he'll fold. Doesn't really care.
Same reason I think he'll be pressing and fall of the pace (and podium) on the last lap. Hope he proves me wrong (especially if it means he starts running more 5ks).
Maybe his second place will actually be a good thing? After all, what does a 21yo do after winning Olympic gold, hold every record in the Norwegian books, and be world champion? Perhaps his silver will fuel his fire for a few more years. Is his gather seemingly no longer involved in his life?
I can imagine that he’ll be out for blood after tonight’s race.

I don't think he will press the pace after his 1500 experience last night. I think he learned how important it is to conserve energy. In his post-race interview, he basically said he thought he was fit enough to win no matter what, even holding the lead for so long and fighting off Tim.
Now that he knows that isn't the case, he will be more reserved in the 5000, and I don't think he will win, but I think he will medal.
I enjoy how the Jakob haters are downvoted into oblivion. Jakob is a strength runner so the 5000 more his wheelhouse. Given all the stars in the 5000, it will be an amazing race to watch. I like Jakob's chances for gold.
I’m surprised there hasn’t yet been a mention of Selemon Barega in this thread. After finishing 5th in the 10,000m, surely he’ll be just as if not more determined than Jakob to made amends.

You have misunderstood. He is angry for himself for not running even faster in the middle part. Im not saying this is what he will do in the 5000, but he absolutely believe he should have pressed on even harder, and that he had the fitness for it.
