Love that Rojo started this thread before he passes out drunk, because you know there’s no way he’s waking up for the start.
Can someone share the article? I’m not going to make an account.
Brutal headline by the NYT. Free Alberto!
Rupp to Medal

It's a journalism thing, we wouldn't understand.
It is odd to have a marathon on a Monday, wonder how the ladies felt about that when they saw the date.
Is the marathon going to be a multi-loop course? Is it finishing at a landmark of some sort? Bowerman's driveway maybe?
Rupp isn’t sniffing a medal. He is gonna place 10th or something. That’s his marathon peak

Why do they have a marathon race on Monday instead of having both marathon races over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

Extremely impressive how poorly written that was. Has to read it like 10 times to understand

It is similar to how NYT headlines related to bad news for Democrats often is phrased in negative sounding language and using Republican as the subject. For example, “GOP Seizes on Report of 9.1 % Inflation”.
Normally the NYT is reflexively on the side of anyone named Alberto.
Who is more likely to DNF, Galen or Sara Hall?

Definitely Galen and I'm not sure it's close

Elite men are generally more likely to DNF, but especially so in this case.

Thx! Wouldn't it be more correct omit the "not" and maybe throw in "instead" or something like that? Weird to have to negating terms (?) like that.
rupp wont finish
The schedule is the schedule. I don't understand the question. I guess atrue distance fan expects marathons to be held on weekends but that is like saying no events should be on Monday because most track meets are Thursday/Friday/Saturday.
Rupp won't finish 1st. You failed to add that last word.
