Barring injury, you nail on Faith and Gudaf gold and silver. Meshesha, a training partner of Gudaf, front run a 3:57 in Ostrava and would be favourite for 3rd. Sifan is listed for the 1500 right now; if she does that she jumps into the medal favourite spots. If The Big Three run, then Johnson/Purrier are in the fight for 4-6 vs Hailu and Hull.
St Pierre is hard to read this year. Her races so far in 2022:
Millrose - 4:19 - very good.
Indoor nats 15 - awful execution, did not look good.
Indoor nats 3k - very good, terrifying finish.
Indoor worlds 3k - arguably the best race of her career. Last 800 in 2:04.
Pre 1500 - sub 4, but never looked in the mix and seemed uncomfortable.
US trials 1500 - blown away by Johnson, handily beaten by McGee. Did not look comfortable.
US trials 5k - beaten by Allie Ostrander, 30 seconds off the leaders. Guessing she just gave up. Worrying given Schweizer had the same races in her legs but was fighting for the win while Purrier was dead in the water 2 laps to go. Worst race of her pro career by a huge margin.
Which St Pierre we get is the big question. If she runs how she did at US trials or indoor 1500 nationals, she is at risk of not making the final. If she runs it like she ran in Belgrade? Could steal her first outdoor medal. Huge gap between her floor and ceiling.
