Not trying to be a hater, but I don't love that she skipped NCAAs but can now suddenly run at USATF. Just not a great look to pass on running for your team but then you're ready to go when it suits your individual ambitions.

Yeah also not great that she didn't turn up to accept best male hip hop artist at the back entertainment television awards this year but she found time to run at USATF...

Lol
Which “team” are you referring to?
If you’re really concerned about “skipping” NCAAs in favor of USAs I’d look at Nuguse.

I would really appreciate it if you could explain your post. Or, I don't know, just tell me team was she on when she "skipped NCAAs"? Thanks.

though this poster clearly has no idea what he/she is talking about- Allie was most recently on the Brooks Beast professional team not in the NCAA (where she won the steeplechase title)... but I'll admit that I am confused why she would leave her pro team if she was literally going to continue living in Seattle and training and then declaring for USAs. I assumed that when she left the Beasts that things would change but nothing really has????

I'm pretty sure Allie chose to leave the Beasts because she wasn't sure being on a pro team would be in her best interests health wise. She needed to make sure she was right mentally as well as physically. She didn't work out for months and only in the last few months was she working out. I think she's in a good place mentally and wants to see what she can do. She has no pressure to do anything at USAs. My feeling is she is trying to keep it fun and see how she does in real competition. She's 13 seconds off the standard so highly unlikely that even if she finished top 3 she'd get the standard. If she does well, maybe she gets some looks from pro teams again if she's ready.
