Good move to get out of there before Flatt shows up on campus.
Bayley and Vanhoy are two stellar coaches. I would expect Cal Poly to be perennial national qualified for both men and women in XC.
It's official
Cal Poly is a great school in a great environment for running. There aren't very many more beautiful locations to put a college in than SLO. Hope he can do big things with the program.
Can someone explain this, seems like a strange move, he had a pretty good thing going at Mississippi with a lower cost of living (it’s about a million dollars to buy a home right in San Luis Obispo).
I am pretty ignorant about college programs. Is this a big step up because he's moving to a 'Director' role?
I'm sure the quality of life in SLO is much better than Oxford. Funding/athletics, though, are better at Ole Miss? Dunno.

If you have the money to live comfortably in SLO then Cal Poly > Ole Miss any day. Great weather, good trails, amazing natural scenery, and a better environment to raise a family. I assume they're cutting him a nice paycheck for him to move across the country like that.
Cal Poly is a much better school than Ole Miss but recruiting kinda suffers from the competition with all of the other good CA universities like UCLA, UCB, and Stanford. It's also not as well known on the East Coast. Still think with Vanhoy at the helm he could get some good recruits from across the country.
Cashberry to Ole Miss. You heard it here first
Ole Miss roster now bare.
anybody with eligibility will transfer
if not to Cal Poly, then elsewhere.
wanted his wife to be a paid coach

As is usually the case in life, you get what you pay for.
Wonder what Flatt will do. Vanhoy was probably a huge reason why he committed along w the other recruits. Probably too late to get a release so we gotta see who Ole miss gets
Maybe he just got tired of dealing with the CEO
Wondering if Nike guru John Capriotti had any influence on this hire, as he's a prominent SLO alum?
Who is Cashberry?

Or the admin got tired of him not being able to tame the CEO and all his BS and the bad look it put on Ole Miss
My thoughts exactly

Ummmm...there is a reason that Cal Poly SLO's facility is called the Steve Miller & John Capriotti Athletics Complex.
