I live in a mountain town. People are on straight up B.S. lately closing down at 7, doing last call at 8:30, closing the post office and municpal pool down frequently due to "staffing shortages". At the municipal pool, if I swim at 6:30PM and the place closes at 8:00PM, someone is already closing down the bathrooms with caution-like tape by 7:15PM to clean.
For the restaurants closing early at 7:00PM, they dont realize they are shooting themselves in the foot.
Anyway, my rant intends to allude to the fact that we live in an employee centric world, rents have skyrocketed, gas is over $5/gallon. These owners need to be honest with themselves. It's not that they cant get staff, it's the fact that paying a "college kid" $20/hr to do all the dirty work doesnt work any more because $20/hr isnt enough except for teenagers/twenty somethings living off of mom and dad. If they paid the employees more then there would be incentive to work!
