A Moroccan has never won an NCAA distance title but two Moroccans have a legit shot this year as Moad Zahafi (1:43.69) and Anass Essayi (3:34.58) have gaudy pbs, but can they match the racing chops of indoor champs Brandon Mi...
For those of us outside the US, the NCAA in its wisdom blocks our access to their website(s). Is there a way to get the start lists -- not just a list of entrants, but the division into semis and how qualification for finals will be decided? Or am I (and Google) just looking in the wrong place?
As a thank you to Highly Disturbed, I offer this little quiz: Which event at the D1 NCAAs has more foreign competitors? To be clear, I am talking about the "Final 24" in Eugene, and only athletes who went to the US for university studies, not those like Ahmed Muhumed, who emmigrated in 5th grade.
Men's 1500

The winner will be offered a place on the hurdles crew at next year's Music City (Nashville) American Track League meet.
I’m sorry, bit what kind of ridiculous seeding system puts Fahnbulleh, Boling, and Williams in the same 100m heat? Are they using bogus windy results for seeding?
Top 2 from each heat, plus next 3 fastest times advance to final.
IMO Williams ftw—after that, it’s anybody’s game.
I would like to see Fahnbulleh win, in grand style. Maybe, just maybe, he can have some early acceleration?
And remember Maswanganyi from last year? He was on absolute fire. And so many other guys, it’s too close to call.
I would really like to have seen heats-semis-final, to sort out and seed semifinalists based on equivalent results from the heats. I hope this format won’t suck; at least they will have 9 in the final. 🤞

I've never liked how they do the heats at NCAAs. I think they just act like this is the next round from regionals so they use regional times.

Look at the heat 3 of the W 800. Can't figure out how that happened. Basically the 2 fastest firsts, second, and thirds from the regional heats. But the W 1500 looks right, based on regionals.
Men's Day has started. Low 70s in Eugene. Should be in mid 60s by the time 10K goes off later. 1500 up next. Decent ESPN stream as well as Peacock doing various field events.
