I am sure that he will get hate for this post, but with Rheinhardt Harrison running 3:59.33 Friday, Tom is the only guy to coach two sub 4:00 high school boys.
He was the tip of the spear for private child coaching. Other private coaches are having great success the last few years, as well as some high school coaches. I don't think that will last much longer.

Who else is out there who are being successful? Seems like Tinman is the only one getting talked about.
Well done to him. But not really a fair comparison for someone that basically has his choice of elite HS runners to coach versus coaches that coach whoever shows up on campus.

Ron Warhurst coached both Alan Webb and Nate Brannen. Both were sub 4:00 high school boys.
Pretty sure he is referring to actually coaching them to sub 4 in HS. Also weird you didnt mention Hobbs Kessler, the only one he actually coached to sub 4 in HS.

Newberry Park has some of the best athletes transfer to the school because of the coach. Not much different than Coach Schwartz getting good talent because of his reputation of being a great coach.

For example, RunCCG (a company, not one person) coaches an army of state champs every year. Thomson Training quite similar. They both coach a very large number of kids. If they grow and recruit some 4:05 juniors it's just a matter of time. The other, more obvious example is Newbury Park's coach.

Who has transferred to NBP? Coach was quite lucky to get the Young and Sahlman brothers, but they were from the district. Who transferred?

With the super spikes and super tracks this is not as impressive as it once would have been. In fact, at some point in the near future there will likely be double digit HS sub 4 minute milers in the same year.

This is true but Sean Brosnan as was stated previously will more than likely break that record very soon. Here's a fact fun fact: Who's the only HS coach to have two national records holders in the mile? As far as I know, the answer is Bob Timmons, Jim Ryun's HS and college coach at Wichita East and KU. Right before Ryun held the record and broke 4, Timmons coached Archie San Romani Jr. to the national HS mile record. He attended Wichita East HS like just Ryun did.
