$6.00? That's a whole different ball game. That would completely ruin my summer plans 🙁
It's already above $6 here in CA and I LOVE IT! Keeps you Waffle House red staters where you belong and out of our national parks, beaches, amusement parks and other spectacular attractions.

I know the right wingers on here will have the vein in their forehead pop when they hear this, but ever think of biking for your shorter, more inconsequential trips? I'm saving a lot of money doing this. Instead of taking a gas guzzler everywhere and then going home devastated when gas prices inevitably violently rise from time to time, maybe compromise and get a bike. I promise it's not something the libs will snicker at you for doing.
Tboone Pickens once told me , " Son if you don't own an oil well then get one" . So I went out and bought $300,000 of Exxon. This was back when Bush was president and gas was over $4.

Koko is probably the dumbest poster on these forums
What Koko said. I ride to work every day. It doesn’t seem like a huge savings since it’s only 5 miles each way. But it adds up. so I only need to fill up once a month at the most. But lately it’s a shock when I have to.

Not everyone’s shorter trips are biking distance. And don’t call me lazy; I’m on a forum dedicated to distance running. For most people in America, your solution isn’t practical.

OK, you guys have confirmed the market has been distorted and that prices are intentionally high in an effort by lefties to control people's behavior.

This is such a moronic take. You’re basically saying go f* yourself if you don’t live in a city. I actually lived on Martha’s Vineyard for a couple summers back in the day and only had a bike so I’m saying this as someone who has actually done this before. I live in the suburbs now and also have a fiancé. Where would you like me to bike? Should I be biking 50miles one way to go visit my mother? When we go to dinner, should I put my fiancé in a backpack? Most of my friends are at least a 30min car ride away so should I turn any time I want to see them in 1-2hour bike ride one way? I’ve also done landscaping on the side for a few years because it’s something I enjoy so I have a truck. I’m not someone that has a truck for no reason. Libs have gotten what they want though. I have seen my mother and friends less because it literally costs $40 to visit my mother and I’m not exactly loaded. I’ve done Ironmans and am probably a better biker than 99% of the people on this site (averaged 22mph for 112miles) and still biking is a completely impractical solution. Honestly stfu with this

What kind of summer plans do you have that would be ruined by $6.00 of gas?
I actually calculated it for my summer trip and it's about $166 for every one dollar the price goes up. So yes, it's more but not enough to ruin anything.

Sounds like you can't afford to live in the suburbs.

If you lived on Martha's Vineyard and you do Ironman's, I don't think gas prices can be a problem for you since you are wealthy.
