I remember reading about Mark Wetmores coaching philosophy of taking 2 weeks off every 6 months of training. Throughout my high school and college career I would often do this at the end of Outdoor Track. As I have gotten older, I have always wanted to not do this reset and try just running low mileage for a few weeks, but like clock work my body seems to start to feel exhausted at the 6-7 month mark of no time off. Is there any science behind why this is? I do not have any injurie's, low iron. etc, there is really nothing physically wrong with me. But every 6- 7 months without a reset my body without fail starts to feel tired.
