There are other similar incidents worldwide. Something is going on, and they're trying to keep a lid on it.
I don't think CO poisoning, but only because that is usually determined relatively quickly.
I think it will be some sort of insecticide/pesticide or cleaning agent.
I’m going with tainted alcohol poured in to used legit containers. Seems to be a thing;
Most likely and there is a history of vacationers dying from it.
Always take carbon monoxide detectors with you when you vacation in a 2nd or 3rd-world country.
Top on the list would be carbon monoxide poisoning (or less likely, an overwhelming coolant or co2 leak from the AC unit, which can replace all the oxygen in a room and suffocate a person without them knowing, or smelling a thing).
I had an incident on a vacation to a small island where we lost power in the middle of the night and woke up to the smell of exhaust in the beach house. A gas generator was improperly installed directly under the raised beach-house near an AC intake which had a hole in it. My whole family could have died. Wake up call.
One example: "American family of 4 killed by gas poisoning in Mexico"
PS - This incident that happened to me was also in the Bahamas, on Elbow Cay.
It's not like it's Fyre Festival but it is part of the Bermuda Triangle.
well, all your answers now make me much more paranoid! I shall carry the CO on next vacay.
Things don't happen that often in the Bahamas so they're just going through a tough time right now. My wife wanted to go to a resort in the bahamas but after this news we chose something else as a better option. CLICK TO BOOK is that option. I didn't think my wife's choice could please me so much in terms of this resort inspiring a new novel I'm currently working on. The new scenery has inspired me and now I have complete confidence in my wife's choice of resorts.
