What the heck happened the former Olympian in Boston? He basically walked it in.

A lot of people are going to rag on Jake for not performing much since the Trials but I see it in the opposite direction - a guy who had basically just had a decent marathon at that point had the race of his life on the perfect day to make the Olympics. Who doesn't love that?
I literally didn’t even know he ran it.
in other news: did you know jake Riley is sponsored, but Scott Faubs is not?
lol
One guy showed up at the trials and became an Olympian. Another was supposed to make the team and was a huge disappointment.

Jake did an interview w let’s run on YT. He had a less than ideal buildup with only 4 solid weeks of training. He’ll be back.

Riley ran his best in the nike super shoe . His last 2 in the ON version.
Exactly. He caught one on the right day. As he's coached by Lee Troop, don't expect them to get it right again. They're just rolling the dice every time.

Jake had been through the ringer with some sickness post Olympics. He wasn’t in condition to run fast and he knew that. He’s not washed up yet. Boston pays a good appearance fee, so why not come out, celebrate a historic race, and jog it in if they’ll give you money.
Who?
Sad that it didn't go well for him, but props to him for gutting it out. Marathons have got to be the toughest event - you can be completely prepared and have the worst race of your life. Hope he bounces back.
Man, Lee is one of the good ones. The reality is 99% of people in this sport who are clean have a good 2-4 years. Just the way the sport is.
Can't believe someone on here taking a shot at Lee. The fact that Riley made an Olympic team period is an unreal accomplishment and he 100% developed under Troop.
Wild take.
Exactly. All of sports is about putting out when it counts. He did just that on the biggest US stage. Given his backstory, easy guy to root for.
Thinking about it.. Fauble probably wouldn't take an ON contract like Riley did. Id say at least in part he left NAZ because of Hoka shoe tech.. Riley had his epic day in alpha's now Fauble had his In them as well.. Rory linkletter Has been crushing in Nike...

Jake is as honest and transparent as pro runner can be.
Re contracts, Fauble showed in Boston what would be an ideal partnership going forward: a clothing company sponsorship, wear whatever shoes you like.
