why can't a hybrid workplace be just as nice, only smaller and more flexible?
In a hybrid workplace the employer may figure that only 60 percent of the employees will elect to work in the office on an average day. With workspaces that are generic and suitable for any employee to sit-down, log-in, and conduct business in, they don't need to have assigned workspaces for hybrid employees that might only be there one or two days a week. And hence, a smaller workplace.
And if they are paying less for square footage, utilities, and other overhead cost, they can certainly afford to furnish the place a little nicer!
