It's a good effort, no denying it. They had super spikes, the best team ever assembled, the best coach ever, the youtube channel, the big meet to do it at under the lights, etc.
But what Newbury Park needs to do from here on out is respect the records. (Get after it downvoters)
Richard Smith was the real difference maker for Reston South Lakes. If memory serves me correctly, that guy was like 48 in the quarter and 1:52 in the off chance he ran the event. He ran 3:03 which is no joke. I have seen 4:15 guys struggle to break 3:15 at that distance because it is such a weird race distance. So Smith rose to the occasion that day.
