It's a NHSF (federation) record ... that's for in-season high school sanctioned events only. There have been a number of 4x1 mile races, indoors and outdoors, that have been faster.
That said, they obviously have a really good squad and probably could run around 19:40-45 for 4x1 Mile in June, if not better.

Oops, make that NFHS (nat'l fed of high schools)
I could be wrong but i do not believe the NFHS maintains 4x1600m or 4x1 mile records.
Looking for a high school meet with a 4X1600 or 4xmile for elite girls capable of sub 9:30. We would like to race this in the next 5 weeks. All inquiries welcome.
For a HS record, 4x4:57 is not particularly fast. It’s equivalent to a boys team running 4x4:30 and is 50+ seconds per leg slower than what the NP boys could manage.

I disagree. The top 50 girls in the country are basically 5:00 and faster. For boys, the top 50 are more like 4:13 and faster. So this, to me is the equivalent of of 5 boys one one hs team 4:15 or faster. There is a reason why the record is what it is.
