Since Hutchins is only 17 or 18 years old and already enrolled at BYU does anyone think she will go for the American record?

American Junior record I assume? Because she isnt getting close to 14:23, no disrespect.
she just turned 18 a few weeks ago. do you mean the U20 record Cook just took from her? I dont think shell be doing anything in an official capacity with BYU until next fall at the earliest. and even then I dont see her running solo races for records as a new pup in their system. they will want her completely healthy and fully fit before they really start pushing her I assume.

Sara Disanza has the American junior record of 15:20 or so. Cook is second with 15:24.
But Hutchins must be younger than Cook, if that's true that she's just turned 18. There is no coach better for her if she's going to get back healthy and at full strength.
Sarah disanza has the u20 indoor 5000 record
Everybody relax! She has 10 to 20 more years at byu to do something.

They'll wait until she's 24 or 25 to start training seriously. No need to hurry, it's just college.

no cap.. no age cap
im sorry but jenna hutchins is nowhere near natalie cook's speed and talent right now. she and her hs coaches knew that she kinda went out of top shape in her senior year so they just decided to go to college early, she wasn't gonna be beating natalie in any distance, she didn't waste her time and just went to byu early which was the right choice for her but also such a loser choice because you would expect her to finally face competition and yet she ran away from it
if you would ask me who will rank higher in the xc championship this fall, hundred percent it's natalie cook, lets not even add the fact that ncaa xc championships will be held in natalie cook's home turf, the oklahoma state univ xc course
Longevity in this sport is very tricky. You see athletes flash panning in the NCAAs every season, get injured and disappear. If Hutchins was injured it would be pointless to keep running in high school. We will see in about five years how it plays out.
She only runs about 35 mpw and x-trains if she ups that she would be much faster
Do you understand the rules? She is enrolled which means that her eligibility will run out when she is about 22.

That rule doesn't apply to byu - they get unlimited eligibility.

Her eligibility could end at 24 if she decides to go on a mission.
