Just another Michigan back from Flagstaff, but nice to see Hobbs back on feet, gathering some talent in this group with Cizmas, Flanagan...nice positive group. Is there anyone as effortless as Willis and Hobbs?
We did one of these "Michigan" things at CU back in the day, I recall. Anyone?
Warhurst is awesome, but I do sometimes feel like running a "Michigan" is called fartlek by others. Not sure its unique physiologically. Its just specific distances on the hard parts? And maybe the 400 is really picked up compared to fartlek.
I assumed he had just taken time off after indoors. Kessler is in college so maybe he took some extra time off to focus on school? An injury could explain why he only ran 3:57 indoors, but tbh he could have taken time off for pretty much any reason.
I don't think that a regular fartlek out on the roads is likely to hit the kind of times that you see on the track for the Michigan typically, what with the visual, exact measurements, flat, fast surface, and the presence of the coach.
No. 2k is the tempo interval. The jog recovery was much shorter.
I thought the 2 k was the rest! If they are doing the 2k every time at 440 pace between the hard track reps, I take back what i said about this being fancy fartlek. That is brutal! So jog rest right before the next track rep? How far? And yes Hobbs was injured.
I'm asking what the jog rest was between EVERY interval. Ron mentions in the video they do jog between track and tempo and also between tempo and track

Not sure, that's the question. I'm guessing just a very short (1 minute?) jog between the track and the tempo loop

OK, yes they do walk jog "over to the beginning of the 2k". I am fairly sure that is a very short distance like 100m at most? I believe it is very insignificant distance at most. Maybe someone can correct me?
