Florida's Joseph Fahnbulleh edged LSU's Terrance Laird at the tape with a 19.91 200m dash at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Eugene, Or...
He split 46 high this year, looked pretty horrible the last 100.
Not surprising considering he comes from a very low-volume high school program. Seems like he would crush 300m anyway. Or maybe "sit-and-kick 200m" is his destiny lol.
Fanbulleh is Lemaitre 2.0, complete with inferior first 100. How many times did we see CL last off the turn, only to win or at least medal? Like Brussels 2012 early on, and just a ton of times.
JF is the same. Both have insanely long strides, second only to Dolt, and even then only just. Killer in the 200, forget about the 4, they would get tired and either overstride or chop up completely. True 200m guys.
CL was the best, actually medaled twice in the JAM era of Dolt and Flake. But in this era, JF has a YUUUGE amount of insane competition. He will be in tough for a medal, notwithstanding that he won this early-season race. ADG, Bednarek, Lyles, Slade, Knighton, Norman, etc are only the beginning, there are a bunch of guys who might rotate in and out of 200m greatness.
Yeah he made the OG final, which was huge. My offer to him to teach him to start still stands😂. Really looking forward to seeing him race this season, and to kicking his azz if he comes home to visit🤣
Fahnbulleh's coach, Mike Holloway, coached 4 State Championship Cross Country teams at Buchholz H.S. here in Gainesville. And he got Grant Holloway and Christian Taylor to great 4x4 splits.
Yawn. This race is unremarkable even by JF's standards. JF didnt run well to win this race. Thats not the takeaway here, because JF ran an abysmal race. He only won because everyone else was worse. These times are G League. Even Boling's time is slower than indoors.
Btw, i predicted Boling would peak early this season and would fail to beat his indoor times.

He has never run an open 400. I would be curious to find his 4x4 split but that is not easy info to chase down.
He ran the anchorl leg on the 4 x 400 last week at Texas Relays. It was one of the craziest 400s I've ever seen. HE was totally spent but kicked it in like a distance runner. Watch it below. Official split 46.96
