I recently resigned from my track team. My coaches program was not well fitting for what i wanted to train for (800-1600m) and decided to go unattached for this season on pursuit of a well suited training base for me. On my last day before i told my coach i was leaving we had a meet. I was supposed to run the 4x800m, 1600 and 3200 but i was on an injury around my fibula so i decided to just do the 1600m and not push it. I raced, but our 4x4 guy got hurt and coach said he was putting me on, and at this time i was hurting bad from the 1600. My pain in the leg was getting worse and i told him i couldn’t do it. His exact words were “Yeah! I don’t care, you’re running it” This was kinda of the last straw to my reason on leaving. I even tried talking to him of maybe starting a compromise with me, to show him my program does work. But he wasn’t for it and just let me go. I’m a freshman and i was our teams top 800 and 1600m runner, small town so a 4:50 and a 2:12 would be pretty good for our district. I recently recovered from my injury and had a easy ladder workout planned, as i was finishing the last sets the track coaches arrived for their practice with the other athletes and i was kicked out of the track so “i wouldn’t disturb their athletes and since i’m not part of the team anymore”. I don’t know how to take this and need advice. Also adding the sprinting coach has been bitter, ever since i left he’s been mad and bitter. Whenever i say hi he just stares and walks away. He also was the one to tell my former coach to kick me out the track since i’m not on the team.
