Hello everyone.
The USATF Foundation has given out some big cash to try some pilot programs this year of having a few elite pro events in the midst of HS meets. One such experiment will take place at
The Dogwood Track Classic this year. The meet is the oldest (started in 1965) and most prestigious high school track meet in the south and there will be thousands of spectators.
I just got off the phone with Bert Jacoby - the elite athlete coordinator - and told him I'd try to spread the word. They are going to have a pro women's 1500 as well as men's long jump. Sounds like a win win. You get to compete in front a big crowd, get paid and don't have to fly far if you are on the East Coast.
Interested athletes or their representation should contact Bert at bert.jacoby@gmail.com.
